Bow ties, the trend for 2022!

The bow tie has been in fashion for years and of course we are very happy with that! Now that 2022 will be the year where all clothing accessories may be pulled out of the closet again, the bow tie may certainly not be forgotten!

Bow ties and fashion 

Bow ties are often worn on special occasions, such as a wedding or a gala. It is a clothing accessory that is associated with festive occasions, but we think that the bow tie should be worn even more than on festive occasions. 

A bow tie is an accessory that can take any 'ordinary' outfit to the next level. So as far as we're concerned, it's not necessarily a festive accessory, unless you choose a bow tie in a festive material like velvet or a bow tie with gold or silver glitter in lurex, of course. These are best only worn on festive occasions, though.

Bow ties have never been out of fashion, but we can conclude that 2022 will be the year where a bow tie around your neck will appear much more often on the street scene than other years. The fashion year 2022 is a year in which a lot is possible and allowed. The classic combination of a bow tie and braces will be hard to imagine this year, according to several trend watchers. 

Wearing bow ties with guts

Hysterical combinations and colours are the focus this year. For example, you can easily combine a bow tie with a pop art motif with red braces with a polka dot pattern. As long as the colours match and you wear the combination with pride, anything goes. If you prefer to be a little more modest in your choice of clothing, you can of course also go for a more obvious combination, such as a bow tie and braces in the same colour. The combination of bow tie and braces is already a trendy combination, so every choice you make here is according to the latest fashion trends! 

Combining a bow tie with other clothing accessories

Besides bow ties, clothing accessories in general are very fashionable. The time that you only wear jeans and a shirt through the day is over. If you like to go with the fashion, you can quietly style the bow tie and braces with a cap. 

The cap or baseball cap is back in fashion. One important detail about this (semi) newcomer is that it should be as basic as possible according to the latest trends. A cap without striking logos and emblems will certainly score in 2022. Match the colour of your cap to the colour of your jacket or match it with the rest of your accessories. This way, you make sure your cap becomes part of your complete outfit! 

In addition to caps, bow ties and braces, you can no longer go through life without matching socks. Whereas in 2021 people would opt for a pair of white socks visible under long trousers all year round, in 2022 you can really make a statement with a pair of striking socks in a plain colour. Or if you want your legs to look longer, choose the same colour as your trousers.
The white sock is not yet out of the picture, it will be visible again in summer 2022 under, yes, both long and short trousers.
